Improving performance of the hospitalization process by applying the principles of Lean Thinking

Purpose The goal was to improve the quality of hospitalization process and management patients, allowing reduction costs minimization preoperative Length Hospital Stay (LOS). Design/methodology/approach methodology used patient Lean Thinking. Therefore, tools (Value stream map Ishikawa diagram) were identify waste inefficiencies, improving with implementation corrective actions. data collected through personal observations, interviews, brainstorming from printed medical records 151 patients undergoing oral cancer surgery in period 2006 2018.
